Itinerary of «Buddhism and Buddhist sites in Uzbekistan»Day 01: Arrive Tashkent
meeting on arrival assistance and transfer to Hotel
Overnight
Day 02: Tashkent/Termez – Flt
morning flight to Termez – on arrival transfer to Hotel
Later sightseeing tour of Termez – we shall visit Termez Archaeological Museum which has been helped and funded by the Japanese Govt. under auspicious of UNESCO
we shall take detailed tour of the museum, displaying artifacts and statues obtained from various sites around Termez
later we shall proceed to the Buddhist monastery ruins of Fayz Tepe which was recently was under the restoration process under UNESCO project. We shall try our best to see Kara Tepe monastery which is close by and is in the restricted border zone
afterwards we shall proceed to Zurmala Tower(Stupa) remains which must have once been a prominent structure seen from far off distance. Zurmala Stupa recent excavations have revealed signs of a Buddhist monastery and some interesting statues were discovered.
Later we shall visit the mausoleum of Shaikh al-Tirimzi and Castle of Forty Maidens
Meals and overnight
Day 03: Termez/Bukhara – 430 kms
early morning depart for Bukhara enroute we shall make visit of Shakre Sabz, the birthplace of Tamerlane – we shall visit Ak-Saray Palace ruins, Dorus Tilavat seminary, Kok Gumbaz mosque, Dorus Saidat and the Friday mosque
Lunch at local Uzbek family house
Later continue to Bukhara via Karshi – arrive in the late afternoon and transfer to

Dinner and overnight
Day 04: Bukhara
full day sightseeing tour of Bukhara – we shall make the first part of the tour by walk seeing
Lyabikhauz, madrassah Nadirkhon Devanbegi, smaller cupola, Mohgaki Attari mosque,
Tilpak Frushan(hat seller’s market) madrassahs, Aziz Khan and Ulugbek. Later proceed to Poi Kalon minaret and mosque
Lunch with the family of a miniaturist Davlat – see workshop and take part in his class
Later in the afternoon we shall visit Arg Fortress, Balokhauz mosque, Ismail Samanid mausoleum and Chasma Ayub
evening dinner with local Folk show in madrassah
overnight
Day 05: Bukhara/Samarkand – 268 kms
morning depart for Samarkand enroute we shall visit Sitora-i-Mokhikhosa, the summer palace of the last emirs of Bukhara. Later continue to Gijduvan – we shall visit the pottery workshop of master Alisher known for his design and coloration. We shall see all processes of pottery making
Lunch Pulao at his pottery workshop
Later proceed to Samarkand and on arrival transfer to Hotel
Dinner at local restaurant
Overnight
Day 06: Samarkand
full day sightseeing tour of Samarkand – we shall visit Registan Square to see the three beautiful madrassahs, later walk to Bibi Khanum mosque, Siyob Silk Road bazaar and Shahi Zinda necropolis – see the best tile work on the Royal tombs
Lunch at an Uzbek family House
Afternoon continue sightseeing visit – Afrosiab Museum – see the wonderful murals from the nearby site of ancient site of Afrosiab(Samarkand). Later visit Ulugbek’s Observatory and Gur Emir, the mausoleum of Tamerlane
Dinner at local restaurant
Overnight
Day 07: Samarkand/Tashkent – Train
morning we shall visit Kunhil traditional paper making factory – producing paper from mulberry bark using old traditional methods
Lunch at local restaurant
Free time till departure
Transfer to Railway Station for train to Tashkent
Arrival and direct transfer to a local restaurant for Dinner
Later transfer to Hotel
Overnight
Day 08: Tashkent/Depart – Flt
full day sightseeing tour of Tashkent – we shall first visit the Institute of Restoration to see some exclusive Buddhist statues from Termez region, later visit History Museum, Mustaqlik Square
Laghman (Ramen) Lunch at local restaurant
Continue sightseeing visit Old City, Hast Imam Complex, Barak Khana, Tilla Shaikh archives, Chorsu Bazaar and Kukeldesh madrassah
Dinner at local restaurant
Transfer to airport for your departure flight
